“October 25: October 27 prompt
The Golden Hour
6:00 AM: the best hour of the day, or too close to your 3:00 AM bedtime?”
So, it’s kind of ironic that I chose to write about this prompt only because of my mantra that I always have after each post. But, what exactly is the “golden hour”? What makes that hour so golden? Well, in photography terminology, the golden hour (sometimes called the magic hour) represents the perfect time shortly after sunrise or before sunset where the daylight is softer than when the sun is at its peak during the day. But what if I defined the golden hour as something else? What if the golden hour represents that one hour during the day where everything goes well: productivity, efficiency, punctuality, etc. Everything falls into place during that time. Have I experienced that golden hour perhaps? If I were to pinpoint a certain hour, I would say it happens at 2:oo PM where either I’m at work or during my day off I’m doing something. For some odd reason, whenever I catch that 2 PM mark, I feel more energized, ready to take the day on. However, what if the golden hour wasn’t so much about how everything falls into place goes your way but it was the hour where all your best ideas come flowing right in? If that were the case, then my golden hour of creativity would be 10:00 PM, right when I SHOULD be going to bed! My body wants to rest but my mind becomes restless and reckless with all the thoughts and ideas pouring right in. Most of the times, I have a hard time remembering what I was thinking about the morning after so maybe I’ll keep a small journal next to me so I can jot down anything and everything that’s swirling in my head.
What’s your golden hour and how do you define it?
